► New Clubs

Once your club has been approved by Athletic Union Management Committee you're good to go. Please take the time to read the information below as it will help get your group off to a flying start! If there is anything you'd like to ask about running your club please get in touch. Pop into the AU Office, first floor Union House, or send us an email aupresident@swan.ac.uk. We'd love to hear from you and there is no enquiry too big or too small or too obvious!

What we will do for you;

Set up a minisite on our website for your club. This will be linked to from our A-Z society listing at www.suau.co.uk/clubs and it's where people will go to find out more about your club. For now we'll just upload some basic information from your club website form but you can take control of the minisite and upload photos, more information, events, news and loads more. If you'd like to edit your minisite simply register on our site then email aupresident@swan.ac.uk to request admin rights to your minisite
Add your committee members to our mailing list which we use to provide information and updates so keep an eye on your emails.

What you should do

Find out about the resources we have to help you - browse this minisite - www.suau.co.uk/resources - for information about how we can help with things like mailing lists, publicity and training
Produce a risk assessment for your activities if they are anything other than holding discussion-based meetings, e.g. for trips, workshops, classes or performances. For more information, support and examples please email ???@swan.ac.uk or call 01273 877641 or you can download a form from the Health & Safety pages of www.suau.co.uk/resources
Nominate someone to edit your website and ask them to simply register on our site then email aupresdient@swan.ac.uk to request admin rights to your minisite
We recommend making an appointment to come and see us to discuss what your society is planning and how we can help. We'll be able to give you tailored advice to help make running your club even easier and more successful. Drop into the AU Office, email aupresident@swan.ac.uk or call 01792 ??????

How we can help

The AU Office provides a whole range of resources and advice to help you run your club. Much of it is online and we suggest you take some time to browse the information available;

How To guides - short guides that answer the most frequently asked questions such as applying for funding, using the minibus and getting publicity for your group
As and when you need to pay money into it, we'll set up a holding account for you to keep your club's money in. Clubs are not permitted to hold external bank accounts.
Training - we organise regular training sessions including a termly overview of the services and support we can offer. To find out when the next one is email ???@swan.ac.uk or check out our events listing. You can view the presentations given at previous training sessions to give you a headstart in the meantime
We can add your society to our online membership system - www.suau.co.uk/membership - so members can sign up and pay online to join your society. If you would like to use this option please email aupresident@swan.ac.uk . You will then be able to view the members who have signed up via your minisite (see above for how to gain access)
