The Uni Gym is a fully air-conditioned, 400 m2 fitness facility comprising:
42 cardiovascular machines - 7 channel cardio-theatre audio-entertainmentAll users of the Unigym are required to complete an induction, a demonstration of the facilities and machines available.
The inductions take place in small groups and cover all relevant issues pertaining to the use of the Uni Gym, including health and safety issues.
All cardiovascular machines and a selection of resistance machinery are demonstrated.
The main function of the induction is to allow all members of the facility to participate in safe and effective exercise. Even if members have used gym equipment before, it is important, as there will undoubtedly be unfamiliar machines in the new facility, and it is important to know location of fire exits, etc.
The inductions will take half an hour, the staff will aim to make them as interactive as possible, encouraging members to try at least one piece of machinery during the session.
There will be a discussion and practical exercise period following the induction, during which any questions regarding machine use or further services available at the Uni Gym can be answered. Induction cards will be issued following the discussion.
